EU declaration of conformity

SWEP heat exchangers are certified in accordance with the PED 2014/68/EU Pressure Equipment Directive. Its products meet the requirements for CE marking up to PED Category IV. This means that the heat exchangers can be used not only with refrigerants and CO2, but also, for example, in applications involving natural gas.

Depending on the specific design and operating parameters, ARES heat exchangers can be CE marked up to PED Category III.

Under the European Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU, specific rules apply to pressure equipment classified as SEP (Sound Engineering Practice). Products classified as SEP are not subject to an EU Declaration of Conformity under the PED and must not bear the CE marking on the basis of the PED.

This applies in particular to gasketed plate heat exchangers, for example in water-to-water applications, where the pressure-volume product is PS × V < 1000. PS – design pressure, V – volume of the pressure chamber in litres.
